World Water Day, National Clean Water Collective
NYC Climate Museum 2024
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
While making this design for @nationalcleanwatercollective, there were several days when the water in my DC apartment wasn’t potable. I was making art about my connection to clean water and couldn’t even drink from my tap.
So instead, I focused on my connection to horseshoe crabs - a keystone species and an indicator of a healthy ecosystem. I grew up monitoring them in a river by my house and imagined a world where we didn’t need to track their existence (will share accompanying poem next).
This work was presented at the Collective’s “Wave of Change” fundraiser at @climatemuseum. What a dream to exhibit and speak at the Climate Museum alongside other amazing artists and panelists!
Huge thank you to National Clean Water Collective and especially to @syrahscott, @cdemarneffe and @sam_zachar. If you want to purchase the shirts and bags, check out the National Clean Water Collective on shopify - link in bio 💙
