On the Beaten Path:
Trail Overuse in the High Peaks
The Adirondacks are home to picturesque rugged mountains which have been increasingly appreciated by outdoor adventurers. Given that these trails were often created to go straight up the mountain which only exacerbates erosion challenges and loss of habitat for fragile alpine plants. While the summits have improved significantly since the 1970s, there is still more work to be done.

It was featured on the Adirondack Explorer online magazine.
